Thanks so much for the class, despite having made sushi before from others books it was always a fairly long-winded process which stopped me from doing it very often. Since the class and your really easy rice recipe I make it all the time! Thank you!

I booked a sushi making class with Makiko as a treat for my boyfriend. The class was brilliant, really enjoyable and easy to follow – Makiko is a great teacher, she has a really great way of putting things across so you understand, follow and remember what you have learnt. Her knowledge and skills come across, and her passion for her craft is infectious. We have since our class made sushi at home on several occasions. I couldn’t recommend her classes enough! In fact I recommended it to a colleague who also went and afterwards kept saying how great it was. Thumbs up!

I thought the sushi master class was amazing. I had no experience of making sushi but after an hour, I had the confidence and the knowledge to put together various types of sushi. The class was relaxing , friendly , engaging and interactive. Highly recommended.

I attended the Sushi class with my Father and we thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The lesson was purchased through Groupon and the Suzu were very accommodating with dates a medical issue meant I had to delay twice. It was value for money and the teacher was excellent, fun and the products to learn with were plentiful. I wouldn’t hesitate to do another.

I went to Makiko’s sushi class on my own, having never been to the restaurant before as I booked online, it was easy to find. The class was very informative, we were shown how to make salmon nigiri, cucumber rolls and salmon avocado rolls, which filled a whole box, enough for a big lunch with a plum wine (extremely tasty). Makiko personally checked everybody’s rolls and nigiri through the process, which was nice to know we were doing it correctly. Overall a great class, really good fun and now I can successfully make tasty sushi. Makiko also gave us a how to make perfect sushi rice handout, which is extremely useful. I would highly recommend this class!

I went with my boyfriend to the sushi classes this June and I have to say it was GREAT! Makiko is a professional sushi chef, she’s knowledgeable and is a great teacher. She taught us step by step how to make sushi rolls and temaki. It’s amazing how much information we found out about this type of food and Japan. I definitely recommend! It was fun and enjoyable! Thank you, Arigato!

I went with my boyfriend to Makiko’s sushi class and we had a great time. The food was delicious and the class was extremely informative – we even learned the difference between English and Japanese sushi styles. I highly recommend her class if you’re looking for a unique experience in London.

A brilliant and most enjoyable 2 hour session when I learned a great deal. This lady Makiko is an excellent teacher who not only shows you what to do but answers one’s questions very clearly. I recommend the course and teacher without reservation. It’s not cheap in cost but in my view worth every penny.

I found the class very good. We really learned how to roll the different types of sushi. The food was fresh and it was also a very good portion what we had by the end of the evening. Makiko was very helpful and taught more than how to make sushi. We were glad we chose her class and we were satisfied. Only two little things I would mention though: since the class is not held in the restaurant, maybe a nice background music would create a nicer atmosphere and we missed tap water from the table or at least being offered at the end of class.

I took my girlfriend to the sushi making class and it was a thoroughly enjoyable experience! We both love sushi and found Makiko to be a great teacher, making it simple and fun to make. The best bit is eating what you make and you get to make (and eat!) different types of sushi. I would recommend this class to anyone who is a lover of sushi and wants to learn how to make some of their own!

Thank you for a great afternoon, it will be a real memory for our family… We even made a bit more sushi after you left. All the best, Martin

‘A wonderful experience for the whole family. Makiko’s expert knowledge and excellent teaching skills meant that we came away feeling confident about trying to make sushi on our own at home and full of inspiration as to what fillings to use. We really enjoyed making (and eating) the different types of sushi. It is a family afternoon that we will remember for many years to come. I highly recommend the class. Thank you.’
    All best

Thank you so much for such a special evening and all you did to make it so perfect.
The boys loved the Japanese calligraphy and making sushi with you. They really learned a lot and it was a lovely, fun party for them.

    Kind regards,
    Barbara Joseph

The class was nice and informative, and the sushi was delicious. However I wouldn’t reccomand the class as after it, we were asked to take our belongings and leave the restaurant asap without the possibility to eat our sushi (we were given boxes for it). This should have been said during the lesson or give at least 10 minutes to people to eat, especially because it was during lunch. Nice environment but for that money I would like to have the possibility to have lunch as well.
